One Essex Court was pleased to sponsor a breakfast briefing that took place in London this morning titled “Sanctions Limbo – Assessing Ownership & Control”.
Andrew Lomas joined the panel of speakers at the event focussed on practicalities of the test for “ownership and control” by designated persons in UK sanctions law. The briefing followed a recent webinar with the UK government on the test, which covered the Joint Guidance by OFSI and FCDO on ownership and control, the Court of Appeal’s judgment in Mints & Ors v PJSC National Bank Trust and the High Court’s judgment in Litasco. Andrew Lomas spoke alongside Michael O’Kane (Peters & Peters), Maya Lester KC (Brick Court Chambers), and Andrew Wordsworth and Matt Walker (Raedas).
