Over sixty women barristers from across the profession breakfasted together this morning, at the Female Advocates Breakfast hosted by One Essex Court.
This regular event provides an excellent forum for women advocates at all seniorities to meet in an informal setting. Over croissants and coffee, networks were built and nurtured, and the lively sharing of experiences took place.
Anna Boase KC briefly addressed the gathering on the active steps being taken by One Essex Court to increase the number of women at the commercial bar and to improve the wellbeing of those in practice. Some statistics from the Bar Council’s recent Wellbeing at the Bar report provided food for thought.
One Essex Court is grateful to Leigh-Ann Mulchahy KC, who founded the Female Advocates Breakfast, and Sophie Weber, who took the initiative for chambers to host on this occasion.
