Chambers is pleased to announce that James Edelman has been appointed to the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
The Hon. Justice Edelman (as he will become) will continue his work in chambers until the end of June 2011, after which he will return to Australia to be officially sworn in and take up his post, and start sitting later in July.
James is also a Professor of Law of Obligations at the University of Oxford and a Fellow and Tutor of Keble College. He qualified in Western Australia in 1998 after working for a justice on the High Court of Australia. Between 1998 and 2000 he completed his doctorate on the law of restitution at the University of Oxford (Magdalen College). He has also been a barrister in Australia since 2001 and had continued to advise and appear in Australian appeals in both commercial and criminal law.
