One Essex Court congratulates Emma Himsworth QC on her appointment as Chair of the Intellectual Property Bar Association (IPBA). On behalf of the IPBA Emma has previously worked on policy issues in relation to the impact of the UK’s exit from the EU on IP law and practice and related matters with a focus on trade marks and designs. Recognised as one of the leading silks at the IP Bar, Emma’s work embraces a broad spectrum of intellectual property law and related aspects of commercial law. She has a particular interest in trade marks and passing off.
The IPBA is the specialist association for barristers practising intellectual property law in England and Wales. Intellectual property is a term which includes patents, registered trade marks, passing off, copyright, registered and unregistered design rights, performers' rights, trade secrets and breach of confidence. Intellectual property barristers also appear in privacy and media law cases. IPBA members provide specialist advice, advocacy and mediation services in a wide range of litigation, arbitration and transactional work.
