Collective proceedings have been filed in the Competition Appeal Tribunal (“CAT”), which allege that Microsoft has abused its dominant position in the market for server operating systems in order to promote its cloud computing platform (known as “Azure”).
The Proposed Class Representative is Dr Maria Luisa Stasi, a competition lawyer and researcher, who is pursuing the claim on behalf of organisations which operated Windows Server on a cloud computing platform provided by Amazon, Google, or Alibaba. The claim is provisionally estimated to be worth c.£2bn.
Ben Lewy is instructed on behalf of the proposed class representative by Scott+Scott UK LLP.
